Khuon Than Resort City Master Plan

Located northeast of Hanoi, the 873-hectare Khuon Than Resort City Master Plan transforms Bac Giang’s landscape of lychee orchards, forested hills and scenic lakes into Northern Vietnam’s premier eco-leisure destination. A regional landmark, the Khuon Than Lake serves as an anchor and is positioned as the social and ecological heart of the development, shaping a destination focused on recreation, wellness and community life.

Aiming to elevate the area as the future ‘Jewel of Bac Giang’, the scheme is guided by three key principles – creating a distinctive destination, nurturing a vibrant lakeside community and promoting a healthy environment. Underpinned by these considerations, the master plan deviates from models of high-density tourism hubs such as Ha Long Bay or Sapa to offer a more immersive and nature-led experience that blends ecology, culture and hospitality. Alongside integrated hospitality and lifestyle offerings, the project introduces five neighbourhoods that cater to families, wellness travellers, eco-tourists and adventure seekers.

Environmental consideration remains one of the key priorities, with more than half the site preserved as green or low-impact landscape, supported by sustainable water management and ecological buffers. The provision of social housing, resettlement areas and opportunities for local businesses ensures that existing communities remain part of the area’s transformation, advancing equitable growth in line with the master plan’s vision.
