Thai Nguyen Province Master Plan 2030 with Vision to 2050

Located at the northern gateway to the Hanoi Capital Region, Thai Nguyen is strategically positioned near Noi Bai International Airport and supported by a strong manufacturing base. This master plan sets out a vision to transform the province into a Regional Technology and Innovation Hub by 2050, advancing from a manufacturing-led economy to a knowledge-driven and innovation-focused region.

Key strategies include strengthening higher education as well as the region’s Research & Development (R&D) capability, attracting talent and investment together with the development of high-tech industrial parks and enhancement of infrastructure, urban quality and business ecosystems. These initiatives form the foundation for long-term economic transformation and sustainable growth. Beyond the urban core, the master plan promotes balanced provincial development through the simultaneous advancement of high-tech agriculture, eco-tourism, renewable energy and sustainable forestry across rural districts. This integrated approach supports environmental stewardship, carbon management and equitable economic opportunities throughout the province. The scheme also positions Thai Nguyen as a regional centre for education, healthcare, innovation, and business services, complemented by improved connectivity, upgraded urban centres and a new Central Business District. These strategies come together to create a resilient, investor-friendly environment that augments the region’s role as a key growth engine for northern Vietnam.
